A lot of digital creators or bloggers tell us how to make money online. Many of us are searching online for ways to bring in cash. You might see content titles promising:
“how to make money online fast.”
These keywords are often just clickbaits that rank on search engines and social media search bars.
But, how fast is “fast”? Overnight? 3 days? A week? In reality, there’s no way to make money fast online unless you pay for it, like paying for traffic. What I’ve learned in my 5 years online is that it’s not easy. It takes effort, time, and even losses.
Now, the title of this post is “How to Make Money Using Your Smartphone,” with a subtitle of “As fast as you can and bring in extra $800-$1200.”
Why a Smartphone?
More than half of all website visits, precisely 58.43% as of March 2023, come from mobile devices. A staggering 92.3% of internet users access the web using their mobiles. That’s about 4.32 billion active mobile internet users.
However, it doesn’t mean that we only need to use smartphones. Laptops have their advantages. Use your smartphone to execute the process if you don’t have a laptop.
How Fast Can You Get Extra $800-$1200 (And even $5000+)?
It depends on you, your time, effort, and dedication. I wouldn’t advise you to quit your job, but maybe, you can consider it once you have a stable income stream.
For me, I started bringing in $100+ extra income in the first month, $300+ in the second, $800 in the third, and $1200 extra within 6 months. I managed to earn $5,000+ in 8 months and confidently believe that I can earn more than $35,000+ after a year.
The Idea: Create Content
What kind of content? Vertical videos and resonating photos. Film your everyday life. If you don’t want to show your face, you can use stock videos. And this is the easiest one to do.
It only takes you 15–60 seconds of video (plus 15–30mins of simple editing). Think about platforms like Facebook Reels, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok Vertical Videos, Pinterest, X, Tumblr, Mastodon, and Reddit.

Why Facebook?
With Facebook, there are now 3.05 billion users monthly, roughly 36.7% of the world’s population. Facebook Reels are reshared over 2 billion times every single day. Facebook Reels get played over 140 billion times daily, compared with YouTube Shorts’ 50 billion daily views among 1.5 billion active users monthly.
Vertical videos fill up the screen of our mobile phones, providing a more immersive experience than horizontal ones. With the world moving towards mobile devices, platforms like Facebook, which aligns vertical videos, are set to thrive.
Monetization on Facebook
Facebook ranks 3rd among all websites but is more social than others, even though YouTube outranks it. YouTube takes time to get views and followers and is more saturated. TikTok competes with shorts and reels, but its monetization tools are geared more towards marketing.
When Facebook released monetization tools like Stars, In-stream Ads, and Ads on Reels, you didn’t need to promote the products of others. Create and upload a video, and it pays you for your views. The majority of the revenue comes from non-followers views, which for me accounts for more than 90%.
To get started, gain at least 5,000 followers and align your content with Facebook’s Community Standards, Partner, and Content Monetization Policies. I got monetized within a month without showing my face. I create engaging content in various niches (personal development, relationships, marriage, health and fitness, and making money online).
I currently manage 5 Facebook Pages, which is why I am earning an extra $5,000 dollars per month. This strategy benefits bloggers and writers on platforms like Medium, Quora, and Vocal Media because they can repurpose their content into short-form videos and include the link to the blog post in the comments.
I also crafted an E-book with tested experiences, strategies, tips, secrets, and tools. It includes my 5 years of knowledge and experiences online, combined with Facebook strategies since the release of Facebook Monetization Tools in early 2022. This brings me additional income aside from $5000+.
Final Thoughts
